Redbuds in Bloom

Here's a touch of our spring flowers for you, Kimi. :-)

I'm a Prophet

What did I tell you? Yesterday, I had four billiant yellow daffodils, and this morning, they're neatly plucked and well-chewed-on! Abby's definitely going to simplify my backyard plantings, probably nothing much this year. It's a good thing I love her so much!

Spring has sprung!

A true sign of Spring's arrival -- we took the snowblade off the tractor and put on the mower deck. What prompted this was noticing unbelievable shaggy grass growing along the driveway yesterday as we were taking a walk. We've been trying to do a little bit of Spring clean-up (leaves, dead flowers, etc.) so I think the season is off and running. I've decided my backyard flowers will probably be limited to potted plants that will fit on the picnic table as Abby is removing all the dead foliage from last year's large pots, etc., so I don't think having the new plants be green will discourage her pruning activities at all!

Abby has been having a lot of stiffness in her hindquarters the past few weeks so we took her to the vet and found out that in one of her hip joints, the ball is not well-seated in the socket. She has a "subluxation" of her hip causing discomfort with lots of activity and will also result in arthrits. I guess God wants us to take care of doggies with bad legs. We're trying to manage this with regulating her activity (regular exercise but no wild stuff -- a real challenge with her goofiness!), diet including some nutritional supplements that will hopefully help some, and occasional aspirin if she needs it. We'll see if we learn anything more that might be a help somewhere down the line.

I better get back out there and help Daddy and Abby finish the clean-up!

Our Abby-labby and Reyna-kitty

Even though this is an older picture of "the girls", I thought I better include them.

Hmmm...I guess I'm going to give up globbing and explore blogging. We'll see if I can figure out what I'm doing. I know you've seen this picture, Girls, but I thought it'd be a good one to start off the blogsite.
